Out With the old!

So here we are, almost a week into 2011. Do you make New Year Resolutions? I’ve never been a fan of them, but having the calendar turn over to a new year gives one a focal point, a chance to sit back and assess where you’ve been, have your goals been met, are you still working on some or is it time to begin again, with a fresh perspective? For me, it’s a chance to take a deep breath, and look around. I have so very much to be thankful for, and yet, there is so much more that I desire. Many things have happened in the past 2 years since I got back into the business, from going out to LA for the 168 Project, attending both the Gideon Film Festival and the ICVM the past 2 years, Chicago Story last summer, and most importantly meeting a wealth of warm, sincere people in this crazy business that I am proud to call friends.

I was nominated Best Supporting Actress at the 168, and won Best Actress at the Gideon for my self-produced film Family Law, traveled to Poland to shoot Finding Josef, co-starred in True Tale Monster which was awarded the Albert P. Weisman award, such great experiences!

What does 2011 hold? Building on the existing relationships, making new connections, finding new ways to put my face out there & find opportunities. What a drastic change in the market place over these past years & even more during my 8 year sabbatical. Such a lot to learn & so much to adapt to, but this is the face of the future, ever changing. And as to change, perhaps even a change in location, to warmer sunnier climes? I envision a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on!
