Country Music Phenomenon TV-Show “Nashville”
From Loyal Fan to TV-Show Actress
I am regularly asked about my role in “Nashville”, and if you’ve watched, you know it’s filled with love, betrayal and complicated relationships…very complicated relationships! That’s what entertainment is about though, stepping outside your everyday life to get immersed into someone else’s.
I started watching “Nashville” a few years ago, being drawn to it as it was filmed in Nashville, and part of my job is to stay on top of programming I could be considered for. Well, once I started watching, I was hooked! On the one hand, I found it incredibly entertaining, on the other, I had to know how the show was shot, who the characters were, what the pacing was, etc. It is a business after all!
Over the course of two seasons, I was asked to audition for several different roles, and of course, any would be awesome… but then, then I had the opportunity to audition for the role of Sandra Barkley, Avery’s mom! This was at the end of season 2 when Avery had turned himself around and become such a good, positive role model. I was thrilled, I thought, “I just want to be Avery’s mama!” But this role was different.
